Ancestral Shrines
A place in the home to honour and remember those who have gone before.
Literally meaning - those that have gone before, which may be a father, grandmother, saint, or the sweep of a birds wing or rush of a favourite river. They appear in some form in cultures all over the world, allowing us to connect with the unseen web of life, and thereby contribute to the awareness of the harmony of the whole.
This one is designed for the household, with space often at a premium it hangs on the wall, a place for photos and momento’s, whisky and water. A place at the bottom for stones to incorporate the earth, water above, a bronze bell to represent air through the singing sound of a chime, and a beeswax candle at the top for fire and light.
